Decisions, decisions...

So, there are two concerts on the June/July agenda which I would love to visit but unfortunately I can only choose one due to lack of money.
1. Bruce Springsteen
Pretty much my #1 favourite musician. The last time I saw him perform live was last year when he did the Magic Tour and it was the best concert I’ve ever been too. I mean, I actually danced the entire night! (I had arena tickets) Which is so unlike me cause I tend to be really uncomfortable, shy, tense and easily embarrassed in public. (I care way too much what other people may think of me) Anyway, I would LOVE to go to another concert of him cause I’m kind of missing that magical Bruce vibe.
2. Neil Young
My #3 favourite musician. (Bob Dylan is of course #2) I’ve never seen him live before and, unlike Bruce who seems to visit my country every year, he only comes here every, what? Four, five years?
The voices in my head are fighting with each other. (Okay, that sounds a bit mental xD) One is screaming “BRUCE!!!” but the other one says “Choose Neil, it’s the most logical choice.” It’s a though one to call. If only I had more money.
PS. Lets hope Bob Dylan doesn’t decide to tour as well around those dates. *knocks on wood*
Double PS. Gefeliciteerd met je verjaardag, pap!

Ooh I see what a tough choice this is for you then. I remember reading about last years concert on your blog. I would probably suggest the Neil Young one if you have never seen him and he doesn’t tour as often. Though there is nothing like seeing your number 1. Ha ha, I am not helping at all am I? Okay I am going to go with Neil, pretty much for the reasons you already stated.
Wah! What was my surprise when I saw that familiar pattern in the top of the screen! Haha! Aww, I am flattered someone liked it enough to use it. <3
That’s awesome two of your favourite musicians will be playing so soon!
I’ve just made a mental chart with pros and cons (from what you mentioned there at least!) and if I were you I’d go to see Neil Young. Who knows, it might be one only chance!
I bet you will do a great choice whatever you choose, because afterall, they’re both huge fandoms of yours!
Good luck!
Hmm, well, I prefer Springsteen over Young, but if I were in your shoes I’d probably choose Neil only because you’ve never seen him perform and he performs there a lot less often than Bruce.. you could always see Bruce next year. You know it’s the logical choice because you said it.. but hey, if you really want to see Bruce than go see him again.
P.S. Which concert is first? Maybe pick that one and then sell yourself on the street corner and you’ll make enough money for the other. No, I kid. But maybe you could sell some thing son e-bay or something, and make money for the second. I don’t know.. probably a stupid thought, but I hey, I did just wake up.
Hello love! It’s so nice to see you here blogging again, and about such a beautiful subject too. :D Oooh! DECISIONS. Ideally, I would say go for both – even if it leaves you bankrupt!
Just at the weekend, I went to 2 Springsteen shows – still suffering from the financial consequences but still recovering from the amazingness – but it was worth everything. The second night, I was right in the pit and it was amazing! And that Bruce vibe, as I know you know, is really irreplaceable. And these days, Clarence is tiptoeing around because I think he’s had 2 hip replacements, so the ESB may not tour again next year, but maybe a few years after Bruce does some solo stuff?
Buuuut, logically over everything, GO AND SEE NEIL. puts on scary voice GO AND SEE NEIL. THAT IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO. :D (I’m joking – of course it depends on what you want!) Because it’s true, when will Neil swing by again, and he is on SUCH top form and performing all those hidden gems so you feel like you’re in 1976 – in the midst of him. That’s why I went to see Neil 3 times in a row – not only because I am extreme and nonsensical, but also because I felt this energy to do so. And Neil’s about to start working on his Archives for real, so he might be busy for a while with that.
And financially, although it came out of my own pocket, in the long term I know it was worth it! :D
I hope you can make a decision soon my love. And about that Dylan – I don’t think he’s touring in England this year either – he’s mainly doing places he doesn’t do so often, and that gives us a chance to recover financially! :P
Sidenote: I also say you save money, so that next time Springsteen comes to England, you and I can do some heavy queuing so we can be in the centre of the pit! :D
Wow, I had a lot to say. :O Good luck my dear, and poke me if you want me to bias you in a certain direction! ;P
